JOE Kernan believes that the International Rules template of pre- and post-match meetings with the referees is the way forward for the GAA. The Ireland manager will have a routine meeting with Maurice Deegan and his Australian counterpart Matt Stevic today to discuss issues from the first test ahead of Saturday’s second meeting. Two men have been arrested in connection to the death of a 21-year-old GAA player in Co Mayo. Joseph Deacy (21) of St. Albans in England, was discovered outside a house at Gortnasillagh, Swinford at approximately 6.00am on August 12. The alarm was raised by a passer-by and gardaí and emergency services attended the scene immediately. The man was taken by ambulance to Mayo University Hospital and later removed to Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead on August 13. Gardaí investigating the death have today arrested two men. The two men in their 20s were arrested this morning and are detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Garda Stations in Co. Mayo.  The men can be detained for up to twenty four hours. Story Conti
